This term I chose photography for my elective subject.
I'm not liking it how I thought I would. But this assessment was ok.

Before seeing Two Door Cinema Club – 2.1.13

After seeing XXYYXX/Cosmo's Midnight – 27.3.13

Clinic (Kenta/Wong/Jimmy's Birthday) – 30.3.13

Just some polaroids. Residue from the first 3 months of 2013.
This year has been soooooooo muuuuuccccccch fuuuuuuuuuuuuuun.
I mean theres bad stuff too but the better part definitely triumphs. I'm dirt poor from paying for all the events, having to pay for Dalena's half on top of my own but it was all worth the amount of fun we had.
We've always been pretty yolo when it came to balancing work, uni and partying but this year, I feel like we've out-yoloed ourselves a bit... To yolo, or not to yolo, that was the swag (lol). I'm just hanging onto my studies and I'm always so exhausted from working 4-6 days a week so the weekends are all I have to fuel me for kicking on.

It's also been the most I've ever had to actually USE a planner... ever. It's kind of funny like, I actually use it??! lol I usually just get planners to say I've got one and I'd write everyone's birthday in it and then it'd just sit on my table and just sit there. Anyways It feels good breaking into new habits.
So how do I catch you up on what's been happening.. So many adventures maan... . I opened up this blog thinking I'd be able to write a cliff notes version but it's just too much. I always enjoy summer the most. So many good memories and shitty memories that become a fucking funny joke later, like me popping a tyre running over a bike lane, getting kicked out of Arty & Mat Zo 10 minutes into Mat Zo's set, getting stuck in the city trying to change the flat tyre L.O.L. All in one night.
Apart from that, I guess I spent the majority of my summer just dancing. I dance so hard and random people are always like "what the stuff" but it's fun so I don't care lol (wow that was a great story hahah) I mean my calves and other leg muscle things have actually gotten bigger from all that dancing I think lol which must means that I've been dancing a lot because it's hard as heck to get gains when you've got an awkward twiggy physique (if you can even call it that). Keep calm and dance lol jk I feel like I've said dance too many times in this post dance dance dance dance dance dance dance dance dance

I've been trying to finish this post since work but I keep getting distracted. That was 10 hours ago and I've since had a sleep. I was suppose to start one of my assessments on Saturday before going out and it's now Tuesday morning 6:24 AM and I'm procrastinating a blog post.......... lol
I'm not sure why my brain decided to wake up at 4 today. It was weird too because I slept with clothes on and I woke up with none lol I don't know.

Anyways enough catching up. I'll talk to you later bye

Ph. taken from Instagram

Last Friday we all braved the wrath of a brain melting 46 degrees at the grounds of Big Day Out. Apparently it hasn't gotten this hot in Sydney in over 154 years??! It actually wasn't too bad but definitely the sweatiest/dirtiest festival I've been to EVER.

We kicked off the day in Boiler room and pretty much stayed there..... hhAHha. The reason we came out early was to see Adventure Club play at 12:30 and pretty much had nothing on the itinerary until Band Of Horses who play at 4:30.
I'm going to make a list of all the acts I saw and what I think of each one because I'm not the best writer at writing stuff so it'll just be the longest most messiest read. This way, this post will be more readable for one day when I decide to come back here to recollect, reminisce and relive this day.
Here goes.

Adventure Club: Crazy good prog dub. Worth the rush of coming early and perfect start up to BDO. When Retro City was dropped......... . ..

Sampology: The funniest, trippiest live visuals I've ever seen. Music went hard alongside.

Morgan Page: Solid set! I didn't know Morgan Page before this so his set really surprised me. One of the highlights at this year's BDO. For me at least.

Band Of Horses: Gave me a headache. I'm not sure if it was because we just spent 3 hours thrashing to heavy dance music and became unsettled by the volume change or because they actually weren't at all that good. We left early for Gambino.

Childish Gambino: Was off thaaa hoooooook. One of the things I loved about his live performance was his freestyle rap. I love the transition from each song to the next and the freestyle that tied them together. So much fun scrapping (scream rapping) to LES along with Donald Glover, getting eyes rolled at us for it and retaliating by yelling louder because I don't give a fuck!!!!!!!! That first beat of LES. Definately another highlight moment in festival history for me.

Vampire Weekend: Best decision with the clashes to leave CG halfway through for the second half of Vampire W. So much fun listening to a band you've wanted to see for the longest time play live. It was extra swell to watch them play with shade and a merciful breeze.

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs: I was so accustomed to Karen O circa. 'Zero' with the black bowl cut and leather jacket that I didn't recognise her at first. My initial reaction was "Who the stufffff is this crazy hag." I was very unimpressed with their performance until Zero. Zero was mad but the rest was kinda eh.

Crystal Castles: sfgsfgMFDKJFjcznkxn. CC was definately a highlight of both BDO and festival history for me. I'm usually not as hyped seeing an act the second time round but CC had me. I'll admit, I didn't expect this show to be anywhere near as insane as the last time they were here for BDO, I mean who would think that any show would surpass one of Alice Glass playing on crutches, like C'MON!!!!!!! But, BUTTT!!!!! it was literally an outer body experience this time. Like on a different dimension of drug fuck or something. If you don't know what their sound is, Crystal Castles is basically like listening to the Yeah yeah yeahs but while spiralling into a vortex lol. Thats how I'd describe it. Entrancing. One of the best live acts I've ever had the privilege of melting to.

Kaskade: Oh maaaaan, Ryan Raddon. Ryan ryan ryan ryan x infinity ryan. Fuck. A days worth of anticipation for the man himself. From open to close, he had me genuinely smiling and just loving music and life. Moments like this make me wonder how much LESSER the world would be for me without Kaskade. Unflawed and one of the best live DJ sets I've never heard in my life EVER. Thanks Ryan Raddon, I fkn love you!! :@

All in all, I have no regrets of seeing the acts I chose over the acts I didn't. And of course I would choose Kaskade over the Red Hot Chilli Peppers every time. I love how surprised people are when I tell them that. Dude, I used to think 'RHCP' was a tv show hahahHAHa. The next day after BDO I also went to see Kaskade again at Marquee. I'm haappppppy. I would've love to see the Killers though. My only disappointment, except not really because I do not regret my brain melting to that Crystal Castles set. Thank you to the many people I spent the day with. You guys made this day more awesome!

Nothing less than what you would expect from a Big Day Out.

PS: So so glad I wore all white and my bucket hat. SO SO SO MORE GLAD I stretched before the event – I woke up the next day sore free and happy.

This year for Movember, my friend asked me to help him film and edit a video.
Movember is an annual event in November when men (and some women lol) let their mo's wild to raise awareness for prostate cancer, men's mental health and depression.
I never really knew what the Movember movement stood for before I got asked to help make this video. All that Movember meant to me since primary school was male teachers sprouting their staches and shaving it at the end of the month for free money.
I think its pretty nice that the Movember movement gives men a time to put aside their macho machos and take part in talking about their feelings and struggles, something that a lot of men have trouble expressing without feeling emasculated.
It also gives them the confidence and awareness to get health inspected for the leading causes of death in australia (in 2011):
1. Ischaemic heart disease
2. Lung cancer
3. Cerebrovascular diseases
4. Prostate cancer
5. Chronic lower respiratory diseases
6. Dementia and Alzheimer disease
7. Blood and lymph cancer
8. Colon, sigmoid, rectum and anus cancer
9. Diabetes
10. Intentional self-harm

Seeing as there are so many organisations and charities specifically for women, it's only fair that we get some too lol
Man I feel like an activist!! Anyways

I really want to grow a curly "dali" moustache this year but a few weeks of my stache left unshaved is just an uneven humiliation so..

here's my contribution to Movember:
